Auf der Website von Tarte konnte ich folgendes Statement zu ihrer Tierversuchs Policy finden (zusätzlich sind Sie mit dem PETA Cruelty Free Bunny zertifiziert):
„Yes. tarte cosmetics is a cruelty-free cosmetics line. tarte makeup and skincare is never tested on animals.“
Update 08/2014: Tarte wurde per 4. März vom japanischen Kosmetikunternehmen Kosé gekauft:
„KOSÉ Corporation signed an agreement on March 4, 2014 to acquire Tarte, Inc., a New York-based color cosmetics and skin care brand that specializes in products based on naturally-derived ingredients. The substantial majority of the Tarte’s sales are in North America. The closing of the acquisition is subject to antitrust clearance in the United States as well as other customary closing conditions.“ Quelle
Auf Logical Harmony gibt es einen ausführlichen Artikel über den Kauf von Tarte.Kosé ist sehr stark in China vertreten, wo nach wie vor Tierversuche für den Großteil der lokal verkauften Kosmetikprodukte an der Tagesordnung stehen. (Quelle)Tarte ist für mich somit nicht mehr tierversuchsfrei, auch wenn für die Marke selbst nach wie vor keine Tierversuche durchgeführt werden.
